Temporada 2008 - Season 2008

La temporada 2008 ha sido muy positiva. Contento en lo personal y con el equipo. En lo personal ganando, haciendo podio en varias ocasiones y terminando por equipos en 4to. lugar en la US Crit Series. Una calidad humana excelente dentro y fuera del mismo, haciendo que las cosas a uno le salgan mas "faciles". Gracias totales a mi familia, amigos, a mis companeros C. Dodson, R. Mele, J. Buckles, S. DeLisle, E. Jukich, P. Ward y F. Morini; las gracias por su apoyo constante a los sponsors, a mi entrenador Federico Morini, a Carytown Bicycles, a los doctores Teresa Stadler y Matt Marchal, a el quiropractico Rob Green, Bill Peterson & Missy D'Alessandro de Wedofeet, Ed Mc Nelis y a todos mis amigos en USA, San Juan, Arg., Peru & Portugal y en Uruguay. Gracias por confiar en mi y por todo el apoyo recibido. Ahora a preparar la temporada 2009. 12 de Octubre, Dia del Ciclista, asi que Feliz Dia para todos.
The 2008 season was very positive. Personally I'm happy and I'm happy with the team. I won and I got in the podium several occasions, and the team finished 4th Overall in the US Crit Series. The team has an excellent human qualities, my teammates and team supports are great, then makes things easier. I want to thank: my family, friends, my teammates C. Dodson, R. Mele, J. Buckles, S. DeLisle, E. Jukich, P. Ward, F. Morini; thanks to the sponsors, to my coach Fred Morini, to Carytown Bicycles, the doctors Teresa Stadler and Matt Marchal, team chiropractic Rob Green, Ed McNelis, Bill Peterson & Missy D'Alessandro from Wedofeet, to all my friends in the US, San Juan, Arg. and in Uruguay. Thank you for trusting me and for all the support received. Now we have to train the 2009 season. Today, 12 of October is "Cyclist Day", so happy day for all of you.

Help!

Que esta queriendo hacer este "hombre-goma"?. Pide ayuda?, salio a estirar al balcón?, no quiere vivir mas?, tiene la toalla en el lavarropas y salio a secarse?...jeje!. En fin, esta foto fue tomada en Binghamton, NY, luego de haber corrido Chris Thater Memorial Race. Ibamos camino a cenar a un muy lindo restaurant Italiano cuando de repente nos encontramos con este "amigo" colgado de uno de los balcones de un apartamento cercano al restaurant. Nos parecio muy gracioso por tal fue que decidi sacar esta foto "diferente". En la siguiente aparece mi companero Craig mirando y pensando cual seran las intenciones del "hombre-goma", jeje. La foto de Craig fue sacada en una cafeteria en la ciudad antes mencionada y esta observando detalles del techo al parecer, pero a mi me parecio divertida subirla para que parezca que esta "estudiando" al "hombre-goma", je!. La proxima entrada sera mas seria, se los prometo, je!.
What he is doing?, "rubber-man"?, what he is trying to do?, he need help?, he is stretching? is the end of his life?, he is trying to get dry because his towel is on the wash machine?...haha!. Well, I took this picture in Binghamton, NY, after we did Chris Thater Memorial Race. We walked from the hotel to have dinner with the team and Ryan's family to the restaurant (very nice and amazing Italian food) and on the way we saw this particular "friend" hanging out in the balcony. Was funny to see. The 2nd picture we can see Craig drinking decaf and trying to help him or what? haha...well, I took this picture after dinner in another nice place where we enjoyed a really good decaf. So C-do is looking the ceiling but then "looking" rubber-man?, do something bro!!, haha. Next time I will type more serious, haha!.

Continuando la entrada anterior, aqui pueden apreciar otras fotos de las distintas celebraciones que les comentaba antes. Aqui pueden ver la muy rica torta que nos hizo Mary para Esteban y para mi, ya que aprovechamos y festejamos 2x1 en casa de Mary y Oscar, despues junto a Mark, Esteban, Craig, Sarah y Ashley en nuestra casa en Richmond, la deliciosa lasagna que hizo ese mismo dia Ashley y en la otra la siempre rica torta de mi querida madre. Nuevamente, a todos muchas gracias, lo pase genial.

Mary make a really good cake for Esteban and me, in other picture we can see Mark, Esteban, C-Do, Sarah and Ashley in "our" home in Richmond, by the way Ashley make a delicious lasagna and in the last one the always super-good mom handmade cake for my birthday here in Uruguay. los 30 - the 30st

Holaa!, perdon por estar un poco perdido, es que desde que llegue a Uruguay he estado disfrutando de la familia y los amigos y por lo tanto no mucho tiempo he dedicado al internet. 07/09/08 fue mi cumple numero 30. Lo he pasado muy bien y muy agradecido estoy a todas las celebraciones que me han hecho, tanto en USA como en Uruguay. Como fueron varias celebraciones, esta entrada la dividire en dos. Quiero agradecerle a Cary & Julie por la fiesta que ellos organizaran el dia 3 por mi cumple y despedida, como tambien agradezco a mi querida amiga Tracy que junto a amigos celebramos mi cumple el dia 4 y aprovechar tambien y dar gracias a mis amigos Oscar&Mary, Mark, Craig&Sarah, Esteban, Jeff, Rob y Ashley. A todos ellos en USA, muchas gracias por todo y mil gracias a mi familia en Uruguay, mis padres, mis amigos "Tato", "Chicho", Juan Pedro & Lucia y mi querido ahijado Tiago.
Hola!, I'm sorry to be lately away of internet but since I arrived to Uruguay I being enjoying with my family and friends. Sept. 7th was my 30st birthday. I had really good times on each celebration in US or in Uruguay. I had a lot of celebrations so I will divide this entry in 2 parts. I like to say thanks millions to Cary & Julie for the hot dog+bacon party, to my dear "sis" Tracy, to my friends Mark, Oscar&Mary, C-Do&Sarah, Esteban, Jeff, Robert and Ashley for the good times. Thank you very much friends in US and then thanks a lot to my family in Uruguay, my parents, my friends "Tato", "Chicho", Juan Pedro & Lucia and my adorable godson Tiago.

Estimado amigo Esteban; Jeff, Craig, Alexis, Ian, Rob, Starr, Tim, Braden y yo mismo te damos la bienvenida a la "banda de Vans", jeje!...ahora no podras parar de comprarte zapatillas Vans, es como un virus, jeje...Que las disfrutes!.

Cocina "Pro" - "Pro" kitchen

A cocinar se ha dicho!, y "Uruguayos RPC burritos de carne" fue el menú. Hace un par de días a Esteban y a mi se nos ocurrió cocinar comida mejicana, que dicho sea de paso nos gusta mucho, a excepción de los picante, eso si que no, pero bueno los hicimos a nuestro gusto y quedaron espectaculares!. Notable Esteban con la ensalada. Dirán que una ensalada no tiene mucha ciencia...para algunos puede ser, pero hay que elegir la verdura correcta, el corte de la misma, los aderezos y los extras a usar en ella. Seguramente Federico (entrenador y amigo) y Jeff se les estará haciendo agua la boca, ya que a ambos les gusta mucho los burritos de Chipotle(cadena de restaurantes), pero estos "burritos a la Uruguaya" quedaron mucho mejor ;-)
Dinner time!, and "Uruguayan RPC beef burrito" is the menu. Just few days a go Esteban and I cooked Mexican food, that we really like but with hot-spicy-free, NO Tabasco, no please!. Well, we did a good job (what else I have to say, right?). Esteban make a delicious salad. You don't need to study or have a diploma to make a salad, I know that, but you have to get the right veggies, the cut, the right dressing and the extras (raisins, almond, etc.). I'm sure Fred (coach & friend) and Jeff (teammate-friend) will get "crazy" about that, they both like Chipotle, but the "Uruguayan burritos" are much, much better ;-)

Feliz Dia de la Independencia - Happy Independence Day

Feliz dia Uruguayos!. Hoy 25 de Agosto, dia de la independencia de la Republica Oriental del Uruguay aprovecho a saludar a todos los ciudadanos Uruguayos en nuestro pais y en el mundo. Salud!.
Happy day Uruguayans!. Today, August 25th, is Uruguay independence day. Uruguay became a zone of contention between the Spanish and the Portuguese empires during the 16th and 17th centuries. Montevideo (capital) was founded by the Spanish in the early 18th century. Uruguay's early 19th century was shaped by ongoing fights between the British, Spanish, Portuguese, and colonial forces for dominance in the Argentina- Brazil-Uruguay region. In 1811 Jose Artigas, became Uruguay's national hero, launched a successful revolt against Spain, defeating them on May 18th in the Battle of Las Piedras. The Portuguese forces, thanks to their numerical and material superiority, occupied Montevideo on Jan.20th , 1817, and finally after a struggle for 3 years in the countryside, defeated Artigas in the Battle of Tacuarembo. In 1821 Uruguay was annexed by Brazil under the name of Provincia Cisplatina. As a reaction the 33 Orientals led by Juan Antonio Lavalleja declared independence on August 25, 1825 supported by present-day Argentina. This led to the 500-day Argentina-Brazil war. Neither side gained the upper hand, and in 1828 the Treaty of Montevideo, fostered by the United Kingdom, gave birth Uruguay as an independent state. The nation first constitution was adopted on July 18, 1830.
